What is the Warming Shelter?
We are a group of inter-denominational churches, organizations, and friends joining together to provide overnight shelter for any adults during the cold winter months (November through April).
Where is the Shelter located?
The Shelter is located inside Lakeshore CAP,
702 State Street, Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
- Entry and exit from the doors on State Street.
- NOTE: The Warming Shelter does not offer shower or laundry facilities.
- Daytime Office and Donations may be brought to First Presbyterian Church, 502 North 8th Street, Monday-Thursday, 8am-1pm. Use the parking lot door with the red awning.
When does the Shelter operate?
- The Shelter operates from November-April.
- Entry and exit from the doors on State Street.
- Guests can enter the vestibule at 6:30pm (Monday – Friday) and 5:30pm (Saturday & Sunday).
- Doors are locked at 8:30pm and admittance is only allowed after 8:30pm through Law Enforcement recommendation.
- Guests will exit the Shelter by 8:00am.
- Guests will be allowed in after 8:30pm for pre-approved documented work scheduling.
- If Guests leave the building during operational hours they will not be allowed back in
- Guests can only leave and return during the evening with for pre-approved documented emergencies or work schedules.

The Mission of the Manitowoc Warming Shelter is to provide a safe, warm, non-judgmental facility for any adult that finds themselves without safe and overnight shelter from November through April.
