Our Vision & Mission
VISION
A community where the homeless are treated with dignity and respect.
MISSION
The Mission of the Manitowoc Warming Shelter is to provide a safe, warm, non-judgmental facility for any adult that finds themselves without safe and overnight shelter from December through March.
*homeless families are cared for through other agencies in our community.
What is the Warming Shelter?
We are a group of inter-denominational churches, organizations, and friends joining together to provide overnight shelter for any adults during the cold winter months (January through March).
Where is the Shelter located?
Ground lever Fellowship Hall & Community Room of First Presbyterian Church, 502 North 8th Street, Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
- Entry and exit from 8th Street doors
- The Warming Shelter doesn't offer shower or laundry facilities
When does the Shelter operate?
- Shelter entry is through the 8th Street Doors.
- Guests can enter the vestibule at 6:30pm (Monday – Friday) and 5:30pm (Saturday & Sunday).
- Doors are locked at 8:30pm and admittance is only allowed after 8:30pm through Law Enforcement recommendation.
- Guests will exit the Shelter by 8:00am.
- Guests will be allowed in after 8:30pm for pre-approved documented work scheduling.
- If Guests leave the building during operational hours they will not be allowed back in
- Guests can only leave and return during the evening with for pre-approved documented emergencies or work schedules.
